Who is releasing the ISIS members from northern Syria prisons?

Accusations continue between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Turkish army concerning the identity of the party releasing the captured “ISIS” members in northern Syria, one of the most dangerous regions in the world, during the recent Turkish operation.

While the Kurdish forces claim that the Turkish forces bombed areas where the prisons of ISIS were located, causing the escape of many of those prisoners, as happened in Tel Issa during the Turkish military operation against the Kurds, where SDF announced the escape of dozens ISIS prisoners.

But Turkey at the same time is blaming SDF, saying that Kurdish fighters had released at least 800 ISIS terrorists from the northern Syrian city of Tall Abyad.

“YPG/PKK on the other hand has just released over 800 DAESH prisoners of war in Tal Abyad,” the Turkish government said in a statement. “Turkey is the only NATO and International Coalition Against DAESH member to fight ISIS hand to hand in Iraq and Syria.”

The statement pointed out that Turkey has so far managed to neutralize more than 4000 members of ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

“The proof of Turkey’s firmness in this context is that the operation „Spring of Peace“ aimed at defeating all terrorist organizations, especially ISIS, as well as the operation is targeting the terrorist organization’s leading cadre recently,” the statement added.

The US has entrusted the affairs of ISIS prisons deployed in northern Syria to Turkey, during the US approval of the Turkish military operation in northern Syria, where US abandoned the Kurdish forces.

But Ankara declared that its territory “is not a hotel for ISIS operatives” and many of them have to be deported to their home countries. Already last week, ISIS prisoners arrived in the US and Germany, amid a European and American controversy over their reception, especially after some European countries withdrew the citizenship of arrested ISIS members, who have been proven tto having joined the organization in Syria.
